The CTS coupe is fucking hideous. WHY IS THE ASS SO BIG.
LOOKIT DIS SHIT
The sedan is GREAT. It even slightly resembles a three-box sedan in today’s idiotic world of fastback-all-the-things! Reasonably low rear deck with alright-ish visibility (spoiler notwithstanding)
EDIT: Ben Rolland pointed out I used the 3rd generation sedan as an example. Oops. Here’s the contemporary, albeit in Hennessey V-sport guise:
LOL NOPE LET’S JUST SHOOT THE BELTLINE OFF INTO OUTERGODDAMNSPACE. Rear window? ACRES of glass. But offering up a view of nothing but sky for some reason.
Fuck, even the ELR manages to be more reasonable, even though it’s still fairly ridiculous.

You’re just jealous you’re not as bodacious as that Caddy.

The exhaust tips on the CTS Coupe make it look weirder

I agree

Because they were all designed in an N64.

I always liked the departure angle of the coupe. Mad off-road skills

It’s like Scotty started beaming them up halfway through drawing the car.

You’re not alone, I always thought the CTS Coupe and ELR were both aesthetic messes. The ATS Coupe, however, that’s a different story.

I think it looks cool, but in a it’ll-never-see-production concept-car art piece sort of way. Funny thing is, the Elmiraj looks way more practical and sensible (on the outside, anyway), yet Cadillac won’t build it.

YES. They are abominable. The top of the trunk towers over the hood and the shoulder line. Not good.

I agree. The weird thing to me is that IMHO, the reverse is true of the ATS. The sedan looks cheap to me, particularly the greenhouse. But the ATS coupe is a stunner.

It’s bad, it’s fat, and dumb and I hate it.
![]() 11/21/2016 at 22:25 |

It certainly has a departure angle.

Every time I’ve seen one on the road with a non-car person around, they’ve pointed it out and commented on how terrible the thing looks. It stands out in completely the wrong way.

I agree

The CTS is indeed hideous, and stupid to boot.
“Hey, let’s take this great sport sedan and make it worse by removing two doors!”
![]() 11/21/2016 at 22:39 |

No, it’s definitely ugly.

CTS coupe is cancer

Funny how Subaru is always the butt joke of showing concepts that won’t look like the production car, it’s still much better than Cadillac and Buick showing concept cars they won’t even build.

WHY IS THE ASS SO BIG.

It certainly is a polarizing design.
I imagine they’ll be worth quite a bit in 50 years. It’s a premium brand and there’s nothing else out there that resembles it. Seems to be a winning combination for future collectibles.

designed by KK maybe?

Agreed. SOOOOOOO much junk in the trunk.

I’m strongly convinced that the CTS coupe was made as a high-speed escort vehicle for the Secret Service, except that it was canceled due to inadequate funding and released to the civilian market in a watered-down form. The rediculous beltline angle was necessary to incorporate the massive rear armor plating that would allow the car to serve as a mobile shield against pursuing hostiles.
^ Like this, but cleaner. ^

God that movie was atrocious.

I agree with you. Every generation of CTS until the current one has been hideous, and the coupe even more so. For me it’s the acres of featureless sheetmetal that kill it.

As a Cadillac dealer I 100% agree. The CTS Coupe is FUGLY!!! The ATS-V Coupe though

I agree with you, though it’s less that it’s too big, and more that it’s generally out of proportion (beltline space program).
This is much better.

lol’d at “beltline space program”
